Abhit & Vimarsha

A Wedding Rooted in Kashmiri Pandit Traditions | Anutham Hotel, Jammu

There is something particularly special about returning to a family to document another wedding. We had photographed Abhit’s elder brother’s wedding a few years earlier, so being invited back for Abhit and Vimarsha’s celebrations felt both familiar and incredibly meaningful. Seeing familiar faces again, and being trusted with another important chapter for the family, made this one especially memorable for us.

The celebrations began with the traditional Kashmiri Pandit rituals, followed by a wonderfully lively devgon at Radisson Blu, Jammu. It was one of those celebrations where everyone simply let go—full of energy, laughter and the kind of chaos that makes a wedding so much fun to photograph. The festivities continued with the Mehendi Raat at Radisson Blu before everyone came together for the daytime wedding at Anutham Hotel.

Abhit brought his personality to every part of the celebrations—warm, expressive and completely himself. Vimarsha, with her gentle nature and that ever-present sweet smile, complemented him beautifully. Together, there was an ease about them that made even the quieter moments between the celebrations lovely to document.

For us, this wedding was also a reminder of how relationships grow beyond a single celebration. To return to the same family years later, reconnect with people we had photographed before and be trusted to tell another wedding story was a privilege we were deeply grateful for.
