About The Memory Trunk

Founded by Kriti Aggarwal, The Memory Trunk is a documentary wedding photography and filmmaking studio based in Jammu, dedicated to documenting weddings and celebrations across India with honesty, warmth and quiet observation.

Since the beginning, our belief has remained unchanged—that the most meaningful photographs are rarely the loudest ones, but the ones that continue to matter decades from now. Our work is rooted in observation, and our approach is warm, unobtrusive, and intuitive.

Today, we document intimate celebrations, grand multi-day weddings, destination weddings and family stories through documentary photography and wedding films.

While we're based in Jammu, we've had the privilege of documenting weddings across India—from intimate celebrations close to home to destination weddings in cities and venues across the country.

Over time, many couples have described the experience as having a friend behind the camera — someone who understands when to step in, and more importantly, when not to. We’ve always found joy in getting to know the couples we photograph — understanding their dynamics, their families, their worlds. Each wedding brings with it new stories, new cultures, and often, relationships that extend far beyond the celebration itself.

Kriti studied photography at Arts University Bournemouth, U.K., where her approach to storytelling was shaped by observation, sincerity and thoughtful visual narratives. Those principles continue to guide every wedding The Memory Trunk documents today.

Outside of weddings, she finds inspiration in travel, cinema, and the quiet rhythms of everyday life—experiences that continue to shape the way she sees people and tells stories.

Over the years, couples have trusted us not just to create meaningful photographs, but to bring a sense of calm to one of the most important days of their lives. We believe the experience of being photographed matters just as much as the photographs themselves, and every decision we make is guided by that belief.
